Field Erosion

Installing practices in farm fields is important for reducing the amount of soil that leaves the field. Practices such as grassed waterways, water and sediment control basins, and grade stabilization structures reduce the amount of soil reaching our water bodies. Many field practices are being installed in priority watersheds including Belle Creek and Little Cannon. These photos capture the process of building a grade stabilization structure. This structure also protects the down stream ravine. This specific project is located in Goodhue County.
