Septic Inventory

A septic inventory is intended to present existing individual septic system status and determine if the community is best served in the future by individual systems, shared community septic systems, or connecting to a municipal wastewater treatment facility. If not properly managed, wastewater can have an affect on groundwater which can cause drinking water issues with wells, and affect water quality in nearby lakes. Funding through the CRWJPB allowed Le Sueur County to complete an inventory on Volney, Gorman, and Cordova shoreland areas.
